Structure of a meeting

Our meetings at Cass Toastmasters are divided into two parts. The first half is centred around Table Topics and the second half is centred around prepared speeches, followed by guest introductions. There is a 10 minute break in between. View an example agenda that’s printed for each meeting.

The evening closes with the Grammarian’s report on language used during the evening and the General Evaluation, in which all the functionaries are evaluated.

Between each section, the Timekeeper reports on the time taken by the speakers, reminding the audience of who spoke and for how long so that they can vote for the best Table Topics Speaker, the Best Evaluator and Best Speaker of the evening.

At the end of our meetings awards are presented by the President to congratulate those voted by the audience in each of three categories: topics, speaker and evaluator.
